Haymakers Country Store

Haymakers Country Store...home of Lil Country Folks, is located in our old farmhouse in West Brookfield, Ma. We are a family home business and do everything from the daily business operations to filling our shelves with handcrafted merchandise. One of the things I love to do is floral design. Having a country store at our home allows me to be a stay at home mom, an entrepreneur, and to pursue my love of handcrafts.

At this time, florals are my specialty and my favorite past-time. I love to take anything old or new and create a floral piece. My aunt Linda encouraged me when I was a teen to make her an arrangement for her new home, purchasing all the supplies I would need. She displayed that floral piece until the day she died with pride. She was my inspiration and angel here on earth. She would have loved to see what has developed from that invitation to create a centerpiece for her. I have enjoyed custom floral jobs decorating mantels for the holidays and making arrangements with tie backs to match a room's decor. Over the years I have designed dolls, been to many a craft show, taught classes and have considered entering the pattern business on more than one occasion. I have a "lil folk" doll that I make for the garden that is 4ft tall. She can be dressed to match the changing seasons. I also make great 100% cotton homespun rag balls, firm and round.

Personally, there is not enough time to do all the fun and pleasurable things one can find to do in this business...but I grasp the moments I do have to be artistic. Did I mention photography...lol. I love and appreciate all the different handcrafts and art that other folks do. I am always amazed, time and again,what people create with their hands.
